The woman who accused Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch of assault and property damage in August was charged with making a false statement to a public servant, according to the Seattle Times.

Jammie Lynn Ficarelli, 31, of Everett, Wash., was charged Thursday in King County District Court. Ficarelli claimed that Lynch assaulted her in a Bellevue apartment and damaged her purse on Aug. 10.

Bellevue police recommended that Ficarelli be charged with making a false or misleading statement after finding out that Lynch was at a hotel about a mile away from where the incident occurred.

Two witnesses also told investigators that Ficarelli’s injuries were caused by a fall.

According to a male witness, Ficarelli thought that he was Lynch and he told her several times that he was not a Seahawks player.

Police said Ficarelli told them the man she was with did not identify himself as Lynch, but “she knew it was him because she is a football fan.”

The man, 35, is 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. Lynch is 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds.

Ficarelli could face up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine if she is convicted of the gross misdemeanor.
