Watching and listening to campaign ads in this latest election cycle is like having a very painful toothache. All candidates are flinging accusations at their opponents faster than we, the voters, can comprehend, let alone have the time or resources to make an educated decision.

Is there any one person or thing to blame for this situation?

How about the U.S. Supreme Court for allowing almost unlimited money to pour into political campaigns? Night and day, the airwaves are polluted by vile political advertising.

Add to this the venomous nature of what campaigning has become. Apparently, candidates no longer believe they can just place their positions before the voters and expect the voters to choose. Today, candidates feel the need to attack their opponents right out of the box. No need to speak about the real issues, just attack, attack, attack.

Oh the pain!
