The temporary Illinois state tax rate increases did not get used as promised and did not solve the problems. Extending the tax increases will not solve the problems either. If an individual or company in this situation asked a bank for more money, the bank would demand changes. Voters also demand changes before any extension. Politicians must stop no-bid contracting, end pork and stop double-dipping and spiking pensions. Politicians should not be allowed campaign donations from public sector unions. Public sector unions should not get wages or pensions exceeding that in private industry. We also need term limits.
