I wince every time I hear reports of rats in my hometown. It is beyond disgusting. Having a surplus of these disgusting things is nothing to be proud of. They carry fleas, illnesses, sicknesses. They bite. They multiply.
Last week the paper reported “Oh, rats!; Rodents just one of the problems residents blaming on construction work” at Wrigley Field (News, Jan. 30). The rats are house and food hunting because of the construction. But realizing the source doesn’t make things any better.
I don’t want to go down the street and see these ugly things in broad daylight. The city must take care of this problem before it gets any worse!
