The Chicago Cubs and reliever Pedro Strop have avoided arbitration and reportedly reached an agreement on a one-year, $2.525 million contract, according to MLB.com.

Strop, a 29-year-old right-hander, was the Cubs’ last remaining arbitration-eligible player. He made $1.325 million last season.

He was 2-4 with a 2.21 ERA, 71 strikeouts and 25 walks over 65 relief appearances in 2014, his first full season with the Cubs after arriving via trade in 2013.
