Boys Basketball

Lemont 62, Bremen 47: P.J. Pipes racked up 21 a team-high 21 points and also provided six rebounds to spur host Lemont (13-8, 6-3) in the South Suburban Blue. Nick Wisz (17 points, 7 rebounds) and Ryan Shereck (11 points, 10 rebounds) also starred for the Indians.

Public League Playoffs

Morgan Park 86, Foreman 78: Marcus LoVett totaled 22 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds to lead host Morgan Park (17-5) in the opening round.

Girls Basketball

Argo 47, Richards 46 (OT): Chaton Tyler scored 21 points – including the winning basket with 10 seconds remaining – to lift host Argo (11-12, 5-7) in the South Suburban Red. Takesha Powell had 16 points for Richards (7-13, 4-7).

Sandburg 64, Stagg 44: Sam Youngwirth tossed in 23 points and Jess Merino netted 18 to propel host Sandburg (21-6, 10-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jaime Ryan led Stagg (6-19, 2-10) with 11 points.

Beecher 65, Tri-Point 30: Taylor Johnson put in 21 points and Kate Ranger added 17 as visiting Beecher (21-8, 12-0) completed an undefeated season in the River Valley.

Lincoln-Way North 57, Thornton 42: Lanie Hicks (14 points) and Lauren Hunter (10 points, 10 rebounds) were the catalysts for visiting Lincoln-Way North (22-3, 11-1)) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Morgan Park Academy 46, Holy Trinity 36: Gabby Ogbevire and Stephanie Mullings scored 13 points each for visiting Morgan Park Academy (18-5).

Rich South 77, Rich East 66: Tierney Lockett put up 21 points and Tierra Webb (6 steals, 6 assists) scored 20 to key host Rich South (20-4, 7-2) in the Southland. Ashley Dennis’ 22 points were the most for Rich East (15-7, 4-5).

Oak Forest 50, T.F. North 42: Taylor Sterkowitz finished with 13 points to elevate visiting Oak Forest (14-10, 7-4) in the South Suburban Blue. Sabrina Baxa tacked on 11 points for the Bengals and her sister, Maddie, had 10.

Ag. Science 43, Kennedy 27: Brittany Nash recorded 13 points to steer host Ag. Science (16-10).

Reavis 75, Eisenhower 64: Natalie Dudek chalked up 21 points and Ashley Galason scored 19 to power visiting Reavis (23-4, 11-1) in the South Suburban Red. Kelly LoRusso chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Rams.

St. Anne 39, Illinois Lutheran 28: Janelle Heyn contributed 15 points and seven rebounds to aid host Illinois Lutheran (3-19, 1-10) in the River Valley.

Lincoln-Way Central 59, Thornridge 34: Candace Finnin poured in 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to carry host Lincoln-Way Central (10-15, 5-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

T.F. South 50, Bremen 18: India Pierson accumulated 15 points to lead host T.F. South (14-9, 7-3) in the South Suburban Blue.

Evergreen Park 56, Shepard 36: Megan Pfister supplied 17 points to show the way for host Evergreen Park (18-7, 6-4) in the South Suburban Red. Maddie Vojacek (16) and Nicole Larkin (14) also reached double figures in scoring for the Mustangs.

Chicago Christian 49, Timothy Christian 41: Abbie Bulthuis rang up 17 points and Lexi VanRyan (11) grabbed 20 rebounds to guide host Chicago Christian (15-10, 11-1) in the Metro Suburban East.

Bloom 79, Crete-Monee 49: Danielle King scored 27 points and Katherine Strong (14 rebounds) netted 19 to direct host Bloom (19-6, 9-0) in the Southland.

Bradley-Bourbonnais 54, Thornwood 35: Breneka Walker finished with 20 points and nine assists for visiting Thornwood (4-16, 3-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

GCAC White Semifinals

De La Salle 53, DePaul Prep 46: India Brazzleton provided 18 points and eight rebounds to spark De La Salle. Chardanae Hamilton added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Meteors at Queen of Peace.

Queen of Peace 54, St. Benedict 33: Allie Herman had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead host Queen of Peace (6-21).

Men’s Basketball

Lewis 74, William Jewell (Missouri) 73: Ryan Jackson (11 points, 5 assists) hit a jumper as time expired to propel visiting Lewis (15-6, 7-5) in the GLVC crossover. Julian scored a team-best 15 points for the Flyers.

Lake County 76, Moraine Valley 56: Paul Otruskevicius had 13 points to lead visiting Moraine Valley (12-11, 8-1) in the Skyway Conference. Brian Townsend added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Cyclones.

Prairie State 89, Elgin 72: Rodney Smith totaled 27 points and 13 rebounds to pace host Prairie State (4-21, 2-7) in the Skyway Conference.

Women’s Basketball

Lewis 78, William Jewell (Missouri) 63: Mariah Brawner-Henley (13 rebounds) and Jess Reinhart (6 rebounds) netted 20 points apiece to spark visiting Lewis (22-0, 12-0) in the GLVC crossover.

Prairie State 65, Elgin 38: Madeline Bednarz scored 20 points to pace host Prairie State (13-11, 8-1) in the Skyway Conference.
