MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY: 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive. 773-684-1414. The following exhibits are on display “80 at 80,” “Numbers in Nature: A Mirror Maze,” “Colleen Moore’s Fairy Castle” and more. The Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition on display through Feb. 22. It features more than 100 dynamic art works from both professional and amateur African-American artists from around the country. Free entry to kids, ages 3-11 through February. Two free kids tickets permitted per purchase of one paying adult. Must be obtained on-site.

PEGGY NOTEBAERT NATURE MUSEUM: 2430 Cannon Drive. 773-755-5100. Features Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, a 2,700-square-foot greenhouse filled with pools of water, flowers, tropical trees and 1,000 butterflies, including those never-before-seen in our region. Permanent exhibit “Nature’s Lunchbox” shines the spotlight on healthy eating. Other exhibits include “Rainforest Adventure” and “Salmon in the Trees.” The interactive experience introduces guests to the beauty and diversity of rainforests, and highlights how these distant ecosystems are influenced by our choices.

POLISH MUSEUM OF AMERICA: 984 N. Milwaukee Ave. 773-384-3352; http://www.polishmuseumofamerica.org. One of the nation’s oldest and largest ethnic museums. The museum features a variety of permanent and temporary exhibits as well as events and resources for the Polish community.
