Every state should make it a law to have children vaccinated. There are some parents who think they know what is best for their children but in the long run end up being wrong. The parents are not doctors and do not know what is best medically for their children. It is good on the state’s part to make certain vaccinations optional because there are some families out there that have religious beliefs and certain personal beliefs, but how far would a personal belief be considered?

Measles is a highly contagious virus; without vaccinations this could cause many other innocent children to become ill. It is not fair to those children to become ill just because an ignorant parent believes that the vaccines are not best for his or her child.

Some parents view measles as a rite of passage for their kids and that getting sick is part of life. I agree that children get sick, but if it could be prevented, wouldn’t you want to save yourself and family the time, money and costs? I know I would.
