Apparently naming a game “Exploding Kittens” is a good way to get noticed on internet funding sites.
Three game designers created the card game with the silly name and quickly found their Kickstarter funding project had well exceeded his original goal of $10,000. The final tally? More than 200,000 people pledged a combined $8.7 million to the cause when the campaign ended last week after just four days.
On their Kickstarter page, they describe the game as a “kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette.”
We’ll have to take their word for it until we can get our paws on one.
