Sale: The Friends of the library will have a one-day children’s book sale from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28. The donations closet is full and there is great collection of children’s books will be available for purchase with all books priced at 50 cents.

Author visit: Meet best-selling author Mary Doria Russell at 7 p.m. March 3. She will present her latest, “Epitaph: A Novel of the O.K. Corral.” This novel gives voice to the real men and women whose lives were changed forever by those fatal 30 seconds in Tombstone. Books will be available for purchase. Registration required.

Author and historian visit: Daniel Bolger is a retired three-star general and currently teaches military history at North Carolina State University. After his 35 years of service in the U.S. Army, he went on to author several books including “Why We Lost: A General’s Inside Account of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.” He will discuss this book while sharing his experiences of serving as a commanding general at 2 p.m. March 7. Having been intimately involved in all parts of these wars, he will discuss his thoughts on what should have happened. Books will be available for purchase. Registration required.
