A 57-year-old man is in critical condition early Sunday morning after he was shot in the Gresham neighborhood.
The man was on the corner of West 79th Street and South Ashland Avenue when he was shot in his mouth, police said, citing preliminary information.
The 57-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in critical condition. Police said the man may have been shot during a robbery.
Following the shooting, police taped off the southeast corner of the intersection in front of a Western Union.
