Grayslake Area Public Library

MiniGolf: Annual MiniGolf will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. March 7 and March 8 for all ages. An adults-only event will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. March 7. Tee off in the TeenSpace, bogey in the Biographies, or eagle in the Easy Readers, it’s all fun, no matter what your skill level. All golfers will receive free ice cream at the19th hole. Saturday evening event will include a Dessert Extravaganza with coffee for adults ages 21 and up. The Vine of Grayslake will host a cash bar with a variety of craft beer, wine, and add-ins for coffee cocktails. Space is limited and tickets are by cash or check only. Greens fees for the family-friendly afternoon sessions are $5 each and include ice cream. Participants must be 21 or better to attend the evening event and the ticket cost is $20.

Business breakfast open house: Local business owners, can stop in and see what resources we have to offer for your business from 7 to 9 a.m. March 5. Network and enjoy a light breakfast while learning about the value the library can bring to your enterprise. Registration required.

DIY Art: Grades 6–12 can enjoy Digital Light Painting at 7 p.m. March 5. Use light and imagination to paint the dark with amazing designs. Collaborate to create unique photographs using different light sources such as flashlights, LED lights, and glow sticks. Registration required.

Princess tea: Celebrate the new release of the “Cinderella” movie with a princess tea at 11 a.m. March 6. Come dressed as your favorite princess and join instructors from Language Stars to learn all kinds of words related to a tea party in Mandarin. For ages 2–5 with a caregiver. Registration required.

Movie: “Tim’s Vermeer,” rated PG-13, will be shown at 2 p.m. March 6.

Saturday stories: Drop in and enjoy new books, lively songs, and interactive stories that are fun for the whole family at 10 a.m. March 7. For ages 2–6 with a caregiver. Registration not required.

Language university: Adult English language learners will can improve their English language skills at 6 p.m. March 4. Funds are provided by the American Library Association and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation through the American Dream Starts. Registration required.

Tech and Tacos: Teens can explore all of the technology that we have to offer at the library from noon to 3 p.m. March 7. Learn how to create custom Buzzfeed quizzes, use Vine to share your life in six seconds, create and edit your own music or podcasts and more. There will also be a taco bar. For grades 5 through 12. Registration required.
