Happy Birthday
April 4 Dave Egofske
April 6 Charlie Kaper
As we start the Tridium, remember that the sin you want forgiveness from may be a sin — not one because of what you did but what you failed to do. And yes, we are our brother’s keepers.
Today, April 2, is Holy Thursday the first day of Tridium
April 3, Good Friday, second day of Tridium
April 4, Holy Saturday, final day of Tridium
Easter
While it is fun to have a big Easter bunny and chocolate eggs from Tri Kappa — and yes they are really great, Easter egg hunts with little kids and big kids too — try to use this time to help your children or grandchildren learn what these signs and symbols mean. They all represent the new life of the Resurrection. If you are a nonbeliever, share that the new life is a better way to treat each other.
Calendar
All month, Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern is hosting the “All Aboard for Riley” campaign. During this time, guests of the restaurant can purchase an All Aboard paper pinup with a donation of at least $1. All funds will go to Riley Children’s Foundation, which helps improve the well-being and heath of patients at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis. This hospital annually serves more than 300,000 patients from throughout the state.
On April 11 and 12, get your presale ticket at the foyer at Walgreens at 109th Avenue and Randolph Street between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a Nelson’s Port a Pit meal that will be served on April 25 in the Walgreens parking lot. Follow your nose and pick up your own delicious fresh pit cooked chicken, ribs, and Pit-tatoes. Proceeds will help finish the John B. Curley Memorial Park by installing playground equipment that can be used by all. The park, built by Township Trustee John Curley before he died, is on Randolph just north of the Lake County Government Building.
