Why, yes, we are aware of the irony in a publication called RedEye running a story about weed. That wasn’t on purpose. But what WAS intentional will be printing the story on 4/20, the high holiday for marijuana lovers. That reportedly dates back to a group of California teenagers in the early ’70s who would meet to smoke at 4:20 p.m. Word spread, and now the number “420” has become worldwide code, found on everything from T-shirts to Craigslist ads looking for “420-friendly” roommates.
