LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Big bass were being caught by flipping creature baits in the grass. Plastic frogs, worms and lipless crankbaits also were catching fish.
EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Capt. Alan Zaremba of Hollywood said water levels in Everglades canals were still low, which means good to excellent bass fishing. Floating worms and jerkbaits have been productive, especially in the morning.
SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Snook are moving out to the inlets and Gulf coast river mouths as they prepare to spawn. Tarpon fishing has been good in the Keys and in Florida Bay.
SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Chris Lemieux of Boynton Beach reported kingfish and bonitos were biting, along with a few blackfin tunas.
THE KEYS: Boats were catching schoolie dolphin, plus some bigger fish. Football-sized blackfin tunas were biting at the humps. Reef fishing was good for yellowtail snappers.
