EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Fishing for largemouth bass has been good in Everglades canals using big plastic worms and floating jerkbaits on the surface.

SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Lots of small tarpon were biting in Everglades National Park, along with some snook and redfish.

SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Chris Lemieux of Le-Mieux Charters in Boynton Beach said “the only fish biting on the reef this week have been snappers: mangroves, yellowtails and a few nice muttons, in 80 feet to 40 feet.” Kingfish, blackfin tunas and sailfish were few and far between. He added that dolphin fishing was sporadic, with some anglers getting lucky and running into schools of fish 4-15 pounds.

THE KEYS: The fishing is about the same as last week, with lots of small dolphin biting offshore and a good yellowtail snapper bite on the reefs. The Sea King party boat of Marathon reported good fishing for mangrove snappers after 11 p.m.
