While some drivers seem to know and obey the rules of the road, it appears that many other drivers are unaware of the current rules.
During recent foggy mornings, I have seen cars with no headlights on. During recent rains, I have seen many cars with windshield wipers operating but no headlights on.
In Illinois headlights are required from sunset to sunrise, when wipers are in use or when visibility is less than 1,000 feet.
People need to respect their fellow drivers. They need to drive defensively and safely. Everyone should remember: The life you save may be your own or that of a loved one.
