LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Bass fishing has been good in the mornings, with live shiners, plastic worms and lipless crankbaits catching fish 2-5 pounds around the outside grass lines.
EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Capt. Alan Zaremba, of Hollywood, was catching largemouth bass throwing topwater plugs such as Pop-Rs and Chug Bugs and swimming ribbontail worms on the surface early in the mornings in Everglades canals, then switching to suspending jerkbaits or flipping heavy cover as the sun gets higher.
SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Tarpon were biting best early in the morning in Florida Bay and Everglades National Park. Some snook also were biting.
SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Chris Lemieux of Le-Mieux Charters in Boynton Beach said lots of small dolphin were biting in 500-1,200 feet. Snapper fishing has been good on the reef in 40-80 feet.
THE KEYS: The Sea King party boat in Marathon reported very good fishing for mangroves at night. Daytime trips have been hit or miss.
