In Perspective, July 12, 2015, Steve Chapman states, “It’s a shame that Sanchez, if guilty was not deported before he could commit this crime. But he proves no more about undocumented immigrants than John Lennon’s killer proves about white guys named Chapman.”
It is more than a “shame” that Kate Steinle was murdered by Sanchez an illegal alien with a history of crime, including five deportations – it is outrageous that illegal aliens from Mexico are “protected” by the policy failure of President Obama and the Federal government to protect legal citizens. Kate Steinle is not the only American murdered by criminal illegal aliens from Mexico, as suggested by Chapman. According to the Federal government at least 121 murders of American citizens have been committed by illegal felons released by the Federal government since 2010; 168,680 convicted criminal aliens with final orders for removal walk free in the United States; and, 179,018 convicted illegal aliens currently in removal proceedings walk free in the United States.
In fact, Sanchez’s actions prove that all legal Americans face significant risks from the invasion of the illegal aliens from Mexico. The white guy named Chapman that murdered Lennon was not an illegal alien and was sent to prison. Repeat illegal alien criminals like Sanchez’s are merely deported and come back to the United States again and again to work. There is no need for “comprehensive immigration reform”. Mandatory E-Verify for all employers and enforcement of the existing immigration laws is the only action needed. If there are no jobs for illegal aliens, they will leave and legal Americans will face fewer risks.
