I don’t know much about digital water meters, but for over a half century I’ve heard someone say, “Anthony, take out the trash!”
I remember back in the day when it was referred to as garbage collection. So, don’t tell me that I don’t know a thing or two about sanitation.
In fact, if Judge Judy is listening and there’s ever a case related to, for instance, flyaway trash, I’m available to offer expert testimony. I can hear it now, Tony “Soprano” Stanford, raise your right hand.
That said, I’m going to take the liberty of self-qualifying as a resident expert on trash, or as we in the business call it, waste management.
I guess you can tell that I’m really excited about my new 65-gallon trash and recycling carts. You may not be as carried away, but there are others that share my exhilaration.
After nearly a month of using them, contrary to the trash talk about Aurora’s new trash and recycling program, it’s my expert opinion that the new carts are making a difference. Already, unsightly windblown trash has been significantly reduced, and neighborhoods are tidier.
Moreover, in my professional opinion, there’s something about uniformity that works well with trash. By that I mean, that instead of an unsightly hodgepodge of types, colors and dare I say, varying degrees of cosmetically appealing receptacles, the shiny blue carts and neatly bundled brush makes our trash some of the best looking around.
