While the vast majority of our police officers deserve our respect and admiration, a few trigger-happy ones have given us doubts about their proper training. Under the authorization rule to shoot if your life is threatened, these police officers did shoot to kill instead of shooting to maim. They should indeed learn a lesson from the heroes Spencer Stone, Aleksander Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler (Americans who foiled the France train attack), who had all the reasons to shoot and kill the suspected terrorist Ayoub El-Khazzani, who may have killed them and other passengers. Only a few were wounded, while our heroes preserved the life of the attacker, a human being too.
