The Chicago River is deplorably polluted by bacteria, human waste and sewage. The past and present political leaders, agencies and businesses that allowed this to happen warrant full-blown condemnation for their total lack of ecological and environmental stewardship. The Chicago River is dangerous for humans and deadly for fish, birds and wildlife. This important river should have been clean, pristine and conducive for healthy aquatic species decades ago.
