John from Bridgeport questions why Michael Jordan doesn’t sue for saying Michael’s name three times. If just saying Jordan’s name resulted in a lawsuit, plenty of sportscasters would be in trouble. Dominick’s used Jordan’s name to promote one of its products. There’s a big difference between the two, and if someone can’t tell the difference, then no wonder our country is in trouble.

I’d like to respond to Ruth from Orland Park about her thoughts about kids being left in closed cars on hot days. The government made these regulations and laws for your safety and that of your children. If you don’t want to keep yourself and your kids safe, that’s your right, but don’t complain about it. You’re also naive if you think that people are simply forgetting their kids in the car. Most of the time it is because they don’t want to wake them if they’re sleeping or they weren’t going to be long in the store. I have kids, and trust me it’s impossible to forget them in a vehicle.

I haven’t seen any stories in the newspapers about building a monument for our veterans and citizens who were beheaded by ISIS. Why? Every day, we hear about millions being spent on the Obama Library. Are we as Americans missing a very important chapter in our history as we live it? Not one article lately has been brought to the forefront regarding these Americans who gave the world the ultimate — their lives.

Sure do like listening to former Vice President Dick Cheney. He says that ISIS is the fault of Mr. Obama. Let’s see, who started the mess in Iraq? Oh, yeah, it was “Mr. Mission Accomplished” George W. Bush. And who was Bush’s VP?

I get a kick out of the union women complaining in Speak Out about Gov. Rauner trying to destroy the unions. He’s just trying to help poor people get jobs. Jobs are leaving this state. Wait until your husband can’t work because Mr. Mike Madigan ran manufacturing out of the state. I lost my business because worker’s comp insurance was so high. I never had a claim at my business, but the rate was the highest in the nation.
Don from Alsip
I was a union member, but the big problem with unions today is that they protect the bad employee. Also, every contract negotiated on my behalf was always about getting more pay for less work. These two issues are a formula for disaster.

President Obama, using only his executive authority, allegedly without any help from Congress, agreed to a nuclear treaty with Iran, for better or for worse. Now, with 34 Senate Democratic votes, this treaty will become a reality. We will now have peace in our time. Remember the old saying, those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Time will tell.

How can former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. spend $750,000 in campaign funds on himself, spend less than two years in prison, get out on home confinement to go visit relatives and be treated like he’s some type of superstar, but former Gov. Rod Blagojevich can’t even get the court to hear his appeal of federal corruption charges? Blagojevich didn’t steal any money. He made mistakes. His mouth has been a little bit too big. But Jackson misappropriated $750,000 and we’re treating him better than Blagojevich.
