While I have not been a great supporter of Donald Trump, he said something recently that was really important: He would welcome small contributions to his campaign but refuses to take any large contributions because, without a doubt, those who make large contributions will be back later asking for some kind of favor.

The only people who would disagree with such an idea are, with a few exceptions, the members of Congress.

It is hard to imagine a political season that is free from the pressures of “big money,” but I think we should give it a try.
