
Comedy? Camping? Sipping brewskies or swooning at the news that Tony Bennett’s coming to town? Whatever your pleasure, there are plenty of things to do this week in the Southland. Here are five suggestions:
*Drink beer. Tribes Alehouse & Beer Company is hosting a Drink Local…Drink Fresh Tap Takeover at 4 p.m. Sept. 24. *Laugh. The 2nd Annual Comics for Cougars, part of the 2015 Homecoming Celebration at St. Xavier University will include well-known local comedians Pat McGann, Dwayne Kennedy and WGN-TV personality Pat Tomasulo. *Swoon. He may have left his heart in San Francisco but tender is the night that Tony Bennett comes to town. He’ll perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Rialto Square Theatre. *Stargaze. Camp Beneath the Stars from 4 p.m. Sept. 19 to 8 a.m. Sept. 20 at Lake Sedgewick in Orland Park’s Centennial Park. Fun includes a cookout, bonfire and movie. *Time travel. Blue Island Historical Society Architectural Walking Tour, 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 20, will include Civil War era homes and homes of Civil War veterans.
