It appears that with the trouble that Blackhawks star Patrick Kane may be in, possibly facing sexual assault charges, maybe the Blackhawks traded the wrong person when they let Patrick Sharp go.

When you understand why you dismiss all other religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

This is a rebuttal to Joan, of Matteson, regarding Linda Kollmeyer drawing the Illinois Lottery numbers on TV. You better put some glasses on, lady, because nobody watching TV really cares for Kollmeyer. She puts on this phony charm and acts silly. The lottery needs to replace her. And why are there only women hosting the drawings? There are no men doing this. Why? That’s discrimination.
It’s interesting how many people want to disprove those of us who believe in God. Enough said.

When I worked as a banking officer, if I refused to send money to any country because of my personal beliefs, I would have been fired. In Kentucky, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis refused to issue a marriage license to same-sex couples because, in her view, it conflicted with God’s definition of marriage. Because she is an elected official, she can’t be fired. Her job is to issue marriage licenses, not inject her personal beliefs. She’s costing taxpayers additional money, paying for her defense.

I heard great news on the news the other night. They said that Gov. Bruce Rauner would not be able to be re-elected if his approval rate remains at only 36 percent. So the way I figure it, we only have to suffer through three more years and a couple of months of this man and then we can get a good governor in.

Regarding the Orland Park commenter about dog walkers going on the lawn: You can’t know when a dog has to go. Your suggestion that dog owners only walk their dogs in their yards until the dog relieves itself wouldn’t work. If a dog has to go, it has to go. I always carry baggies with me and pick up my dog’s droppings. More people should take more responsibility. But you can’t tell a dog when to go. It doesn’t work that way.

More about former Vice President Dick Cheney coming on TV during campaign season: We’ve injured 40,000 American soldiers in the Iraq War so it’s really a wonderful thing that former President George W. Bush, Cheney, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice did, but nobody seems to want to remember that. They keep saying President Obama did it, but if you look at what went on, you’ll see that he was handed this mess. He’s been trying to get us out of it, and it’s really pretty impossible to do.
Let’s let our aldermen know right now that whoever backs Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s proposed property tax hike will not be voted in next time. This is getting ridiculous. The middle class cannot support the entire state of Illinois. Let’s knock this off, people. Let’s get some sense into our heads. So let’s tell the aldermen ahead of time — if you back this idiotic property tax increase, we are not voting you back in.

To Teresa in Orland Park: Realize that our state is broke. Remember, your Democrats put Illinois in a boat without a paddle, not Gov. Bruce Rauner.

President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have really done it. Besides giving billions of dollars to Iran, which will probably finance more terrorism against us, they agreed to give $10 million yearly while allowing Iran to monitor themselves and their uranium supply and promise not to make a bomb. In exchange, we get no hostages released and nothing for our country and we promise to ignore chants of “Death to America.” Obama got what he wanted for his legacy. News flash: This is not an agreement, it’s a concession.
