SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Skip Dana of the Helen S and Fish City Pride drift boats at Hillsboro Inlet Marina said anglers were catching yellowtail snappers on the reefs. Dolphin were biting 14-20 miles offshore. Capt. Trey Claus of Coral Gables had dolphin 10-12 pounds 13 miles offshore on Wednesday.
THE KEYS: Blackfin tunas of 20 or more pounds were being caught at the humps with live pilchards and by trolling feathers. Dolphin were biting farther offshore around floating debris. Yellowtail snappers were biting on the reefs.
SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Snook and redfish were biting along the Gulf coast of Everglades National Park, along with some tarpon.
LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Good numbers of bass 2-4 pounds, along with some bigger fish, were biting swimbaits and plastic worms and jerkbaits in the grass on the main lake.
EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Capt. Alan Zaremba reported that peacock and largemouth bass were schooling in urban and Everglades canals and biting topwater plugs.
