Elgin detectives are investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday morning at a convenience store, police said.
A man entered the store in the 400 block of Bluff City Boulevard about 11:20 a.m., approached an employee and implied he had a handgun, then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled on foot, according to a press release from Elgin police.
The suspect was described as about 6-foot-2 with a medium build, police said.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division were investigating.
