The St. Philip Community Dinner welcomes all each Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church at 1609 Pfingsten Road at Lake Avenue in Glenview. After a summer hiatus, the free meals picked up again on Sept. 8 and will continue until May 31.

“We know that so many in our community are in need and in need of feeling like they’re connected,” said the Rev. Kyle R. Severson, St. Philip’s pastor.

Volunteers, which included Interact Club members from Glenbrook South High School on Oct. 13, served up a hot meal that included sloppy joes, green beans, mashed potatoes and brownies.

“We’re open to the community, anybody,” said Pam Blackstone, a Glenview resident for 55 years. A clothes closet and pet food pantry are available, as well.
