9:32 p.m.: Gunmen with assault weapons opened fire at an Italian restaurant called Casa Nostra (above), a nearby cafe called La Bonne Bierre and a laundromat.
Five people were killed and eight more injured. There were about a dozen bullet holes in the windows of the cafe, and gunfire shattered the windows of the laundromat, spraying broken glass across the floor.
