The American people realize full well “the character of the onslaught against us,” to use the words of President Franklin Roosevelt from 74 years ago. After San Bernardino, we realize we are truly fighting the Islamic State at home, whether terrorists have been sent here or recruited here. To the victims in San Bernardino, it is of little matter whether the Islamic State physically sent these two terrorists or recruited them on the Internet.

Our president should tell the military that we need to destroy the Islamic State. Do whatever it takes and send Congress the bill. Forget collateral damage; we have enough collateral damage on the homefront already.
