Show: Lake County Gun and Sportsman Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 27 at Antioch VFW, 75 North Ave. There will be guns, knives, ammo and more. Buy, sell, trade or get an appraisal. Plunge/fundraiser: The annual Polar Bear Plunge will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 1 at Waukegan Municipal Beach, 201 Sea Horse Drive. Aqua shoes or other foot wear is required. Food and other refreshments will be available for sale. Plungers can pre-register for $15 until 4 p.m. Dec. 30. Day-of-registration costs $20 and begins at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the Plunge go to the Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County, Waukegan scholarship program. This program helps individuals with disabilities participate in camps, athletics, health and fitness programs and more that they would otherwise be unable to access or afford.
