I watched President Barack Obama explain how his new set of executive orders will reduce the gang violence in America. I couldn’t help but compare it to watching him promise multiple times that Obamacare was going to reduce my health care premium by $2,500 per year.

Wanting to give his ideas a fair chance I downloaded and read all 258 pages of his recommendations to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and what I learned was that Illinois has already passed laws implementing most of them. If his recommendations are already law in Illinois, yet Chicago still leads the nation in shootings, I have come to the conclusion that his main purpose was to “do something” even if it means nothing.
