I know a lot of people don’t like Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, but he’s the only one who’s big enough and man enough to speak up. He will do all he can to bring America back instead of fighting endless foreign wars and donating billions of our money to foreign countries who waste it and don’t appreciate us. We need to spend all that money sent overseas within America to make our lives better and improve our deteriorating roads, bridges, schools, etc. Take care of No. 1.

Please stop the politically correct nonsense for the new year. Come back down to earth.

Kudos to Lemont for planning to annex properties near Bell and McCarthy roads. The people who live in eastern Lemont Township do not want to be annexed by Palos Park nor do we want to be surrounded by Palos Park. Our children go to school in Lemont. We shop and attend church in Lemont. We belong to the Lemont Park District. Our fire and ambulance service come from Lemont. Our history is with Lemont. We do not want Palos Park near us!

I read that people want to create a law, giving the residents of Chicago the ability to recall the mayor. I get that people are furious at Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago Police Department and many others. However, I believe that the proposed law would create a dangerous precedent. Every time some people are mad about something in the city, they will want to recall the mayor. Angry with the Chicago Public Schools? Sack the mayor. Upset about higher taxes? Recall the mayor. Red-light cameras? Remove the mayor. This is what happens when people give into the demands of a mob.

It was a pleasure to read Donna Vickroy’s recent columns because they concern stories that are uplifting. Thank you, Donna. You made it seem like the Christmas season again.

For all you Democrats who bought into the boondoggle called “Obamacare,” the jury has returned its verdict — “abject failure.” Participation rates are drastically below what was anticipated. Premiums and deductibles are grossly inflated. The demographic category hoodwinked into suffering the financial and health-related burdens of all this is … the middle class. For those who drank the Obamacare Kool-Aid, you now have a very deserved hangover.

People today have sanitized so much and corrected everything to a point of absurdity and insanity. They want everything to be safe, non-offensive, non-controversial and neutral. Don’t let your kids see reality — it may mark them for the rest of their lives.

I worry about our future. Who is going to choose to enter the police force? Who will be a teacher? These occupations are the guardians of our society after parents begin to mold and train their children to be good citizens and respect others. Often the parent/guardian fails in the beginning process to lead them on that path. Please respect these two important occupations and don’t sour on them as their systems weed out the bad apples.

I totally agree with Dave from Oak Lawn. Where are all these pro-life people when it comes to demonstrating against the National Rifle Association? Yeah, they save it all for Planned Parenthood.

There’s a critical sickness in Chicago — Da Bears. Why do the Chicago Bears stink? Bad management. The Bears could get the first 11 picks in the 2016 draft, and they still wouldn’t make the playoffs.
