There is a certain amount of truth to Cal Thomas’ contention in his Thursday column that liberal “good intentions” alone are insufficient to combat the horrendous gun violence that has beset our country. But what of the opposite? A far greater problem than ineffectual good intentions is the potently evil intent of the gun culture which would rather have Americans living in an armed camp than see guns justly and accurately reviled as ugly instruments of death.
