A reader from Mokena says that Donald Trump is putting fear into everyone with his “destructive movement.” Donald Trump has told no lies, and he says what most SANE Americans are thinking. We should be afraid of what the current administration is doing to this country. Don’t forget that “political correctness” also means that everyone should be insulted by anything that they don’t agree with. Political correctness also means that we should lie to someone’s face, then act exactly the opposite. Mokena, put your head back in the sand. I’m sure you were very comfortable there.

A commenter from Mokena evidently thinks Trump’s solution to temporarily prohibit Muslims and their religious beliefs is awful. His Speak Out comment said, “Whether black or white, Jewish, Muslim or Christian, we are all equal, all the same.” Granted, all races should be considered the same, but not religions. The Muslim religion of Islam, to my knowledge, is the only one to actually condone eradication of all other religions and their believers. Muslims want to come here to at least change our Christian beliefs, while some wanting to come here are “radicals” who want to completely kill us by any method. Mr. Trump, I believe your solution is best for our country’s safety.

I hear the Democrats in Springfield wanted to buy Powerball tickets as part of their solution to Illinois’ serious debt problem. Unfortunately, it would not be enough, so back to the drawing board.

Why does every proposal from Gov. Rauner come with strings attached? The latest is the proposal to reduce the number of taxing bodies in the state. But, of course, his turnaround agenda is part of the proposal, too, even though one has nothing to do with the other, like the state budget. Next, he says he won’t even consider legislation that would help Chicago schools (legislation that doesn’t require state money, just the ability to change pension payment schedules) unless Mayor Emanuel supports (or helps get passed) his turnaround agenda. You may be able to bully employees in a company you own, but that is no way to govern. The governor hasn’t a clue.

Don’t call the police if you don’t want the police to come out shooting. Handle your own domestic problems. Police stop violence with violence. What else can the police do? A policeman can’t be a psychiatrist.
The president continues to push his agenda for placing law-abiding gun owners under even more governmental control, while all of us know his polarizing remedies for gun violence will have no plausible effect. Does the president think that some 15-year-old gangbanger will comply with his registration requirements? Does he think that his executive orders will have an effect on terrorist fanatics? Seems he truly wants to know who you are, where you live and what firearms you own. Yes, responsible owners, his real focus is on you, not the evil-doers. He knows the criminal element won’t be controlled by his executive orders, but his attack on the Second Amendment is intended to control you!

The domestic terrorists/protesters at the Oregon wildlife refuge are very brave men. They’ve threatened to use their womenfolk on the front lines, so that if any of them were killed it would help their cause by making it look like the government and police were killing women and children. Such courage is only matched by their stupidity. Maybe, besides background checks, IQ tests ought to be a requirement for gun ownership.
