Each week, readers of New Homes Marketplace ask questions of area homebuilders. Bob Meyn, vice president of sales and marketing for the Chicago Division of Taylor Morrison, provides this week’s answers.
Q: How do you select the communities you build in?
— Stacey, Glendale Heights
A: At Taylor Morrison we select communities that meet the needs of our targeted consumer groups. Those targeted groups consist of (1) move up buyers who are looking for highly desirable locations with top-ranked school districts. (2) Move up or move down buyers who are looking for a multifamily, maintenance-free, in-fill location with commuter access and nearby retail/commercial options at the top of their list. And, (3) move up or move down buyers in multiple locations who are close to growth areas, want to be close to family and where affordability is of key importance.
Q: How do I get answers once the project starts if I have questions or concerns?
— Thomas, Aurora
A: Taylor Morrison has a multiple touch-point approach with our homebuyers in which we are in contact throughout the building process. A series of orientations and walk-through inspections at multiple stages are facilitated by the onsite project manager. Keeping the consumer involved and educated during the construction of their home is the cornerstone of our customer satisfaction experience.
