An arrest warrant has been issued for a Lockport woman who allegedly filed a false police that she was the victim of an attempted robbery, police announced Friday.

Police said Crystal L. Juliano, 28, of the 1700 block of South Jefferson Street, fabricated a story about two men trying to rob her on Wednesday afternoon.

Juliano reported that she was punched in the face and one of the men slashed at her with a knife after she refused to give them the cash they had demanded, according to police..

Police were still trying to locate Juliano Friday afternoon.

Lockport Deputy Police Chief Ron Huff said he didn’t know why Juliano filed the false report.

“I wouldn’t want to speculate on her mindset,” he said. “It doesn’t appear to be a case of revenge, as she didn’t identify anyone as a suspect.”
