It is amazing to me that so-called Christian Evangelical leaders are endorsing political candidates who spout hate and racial bias, along with calling for discrimination against others. You cannot tell me that you can find this in the Bible. No wonder young people are turned off by religion.
You can get people to believe anything these days. A simple Facebook post like the one in San Diego about a loud noise in a building on a naval base is all it takes to send people into a full-blown panic. Unreal.
Good luck buying a dress that has any kind of sleeves. Even for little girls, everything is sleeveless. I will be glad when this trend is over.
I’ve been reading the comments about trash in Merrillville. People need to be considerate and not throw their garbage out car windows. They need to put trash in receptacles, and of course, when it’s windy outside, they need to bag their garbage and/or recyclables so when their garbage can tips over it doesn’t fly all over the neighborhood. It’s a learned behavior, and some people were never taught how to properly dispose of their garbage. And then some others just don’t care and feel someone else will pick up their mess.
Here we go again. The latest scare is the Zika virus. Guess that last flu bug the government said lasted over a year and a half finally went away. OK, on to the next “let’s scare the general public” epidemic.
Would it be possible for someone to explain to me why gas prices jumped 23 cents? I must have missed the report that the wind changed direction, the sun came up a minute earlier, Trump doesn’t want to do Fox or some other extremely important line of reasoning. You know it’s funny, in World War II, which was an actual world war, prices of gasoline didn’t change as much as they do now. That’s called greed.
You are offended by men who do not remove their hat in restaurants? Military men and women who served have more respect than you. Shut your trap, especially while chewing and spewing. You offend me.
Someone needs to look at the curbs along Third Street. Filthy. I’m told street cleaners can’t be used in winter. In Valparaiso, they have city employees pulling small containers on wheels behind as they sweep the curbs. This administration should be ashamed of itself.
Free will. Your God knows the past, present and the future. Your God knows what you are going to do. That is not free will.
I was never in the service, just young enough to miss the draft for Vietnam. If women can put on makeup to hide whatever it is they’re hiding, then I can cover up my bald head in restaurants. It’s not messy, it’s shiny.
To the person complaining about wearing a hat in a restaurant: I wear a hat, and wash and comb my hair daily. I had a guy who sat in a booth next to me. He didn’t have a hat on, but stunk. I hurried and ate as quick as possible. Left with my hat.
Aw, boo hoo, looking at the negative side of things in regard to President Obama — spoken like a typical Lake County liberal. I am sure none of you Northwest Indiana liberals ever had anything negative to say about George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan, right?
So, Republicans in the state of Indiana don’t represent the state of Indiana? No, actually, I think you have it entirely wrong. They don’t represent the liberal mindset in Northwest Indiana. You liberals seem to have the Koch brothers on your mind 24/7, perhaps you should ask George Soros for advice.
Do evangelicals who accept the vitrolic speech and juvenile behavior of Donald Trump realize how it reflects on the public perception of their Christianity?
