In “Sanders is taking one for the team,” Ron Grossman applauded Bernie Sanders and paid tribute to failed socialist presidential candidates of the 20th century. The courage of Sanders and these other political leaders continues to improve the lives of people who struggle to live a respectable life in an age of vast income disparity.
In Thursday night’s Democratic debate, I cheered Sanders’ passionate defense of a senator’s right to disagree with some policies and positions of a president, even one of his own party. And after so many years of Henry Kissinger adulation, I was grateful for Sanders’ fierce denunciation of Kissinger and his disastrous tenure as secretary of state and foreign policy “expert.”
But I think Ron made an error in predicting that Sanders would be defeated. I say, come on, Ron, feel the Bern. Lead with your chin.
