Highlights: Dirks competed at the state meet in the vault and finished 31st with a 9.050 on Friday, Feb. 19. She advanced to state by tying for third (9.400) in the vault at the Mundelein Sectional.

Best result: Pistorius tied for 12th in the vault at the state tournament on Friday, Feb. 19. She scored a 9.425. She also competed in the floor exercise and tied for 23rd (9.200).

Quote: “It was big for me to come here and do that vault,” said Pistorius. “It was the best I’ve ever done it.”

Highlights: Syfu competed at the state tournament, finishing with a two-round total of 1,064 on Friday, Feb. 19. Her average score at state was 177.3. She tied for 125th place. She advanced to state as an individual by bowling a 1,218 at the Rolling Meadows Sectional on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Quote: “She has all the physical skills to compete with the best in the state,” Niles North coach Richard Lee said. “She will take this experience and grow from it.”
