Andreas Hogue was raised in Glenview, is a 1991 graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette and is the owner of Northbrook’s Andreas Hogue Salon. He and his wife Ashley, a Glenview- and Skokie-based dance instructor, have four children.

Q: So Andreas, what do you think of Glenview, your hometown?

A: It’s just a great community. It seems like wherever you go, people know you. It has everything you want. It’s a great place. All I can say is, there’s no other community I would like to be a part of.

Q: Your son, William. What’s it like for him, being the youngest of four boys?

A: He’s like their favorite. He’s like their pet. They’re like a father figure to him.

Q: So what happened today (March 18) as a milestone?

A: He (William) rode his first bike, a two-wheeler this morning. I took a video as he did it. I sent it to everyone I know.

Q: Coming from a salon owner, what’s the hottest look for spring?

A: Right now, it’s a messy bob. For girls, soft curls. For men, it’s a longer look but clean on the sides. Longer on top. It’s hair with texture.

Q: How do you manage a growing business and four growing sons?

A: I wake up at 6 a.m. and I don’t stop until 10 p.m. It’s constant. I keep Sundays for them (family). Sunday is purely family.

Q: And now a question for William, who recently tried cutting his own hair with dad having to emergency-fix it: William, who cuts your hair?

A: William: I do!

Andreas: Not anymore!
