SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Mario Cote¿ of Hollywood, who fishes out of Port Everglades Inlet on No Vacansea, said kingfish were biting all week, with the best fishing in 90-110 feet south of the inlet. A few sailfish, dolphin and blackfin tunas also were biting.

SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Keys guides have been targeting big tarpon all over the backcountry. Pompano, sea trout and mangrove snappers also were biting.

THE KEYS: Richard Stanczyk of Bud N’ Mary’s Marina in Islamorada said a little bit of everything was biting, including some sailfish, cobia, kingfish and dolphin. Yellowtail, mangrove and small mutton snappers were caught on the reefs.

EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Lots of bass were biting in the canals at Sawgrass Recreation Park and at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Stick worms, swim jigs and topwater lures were catching bass by mile marker 41 along Alligator Alley.

LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Big bass have moved into the North Shore and Harney Pond areas where they were biting topwaters, spinnerbaits and swimbaits.
