Clear up budget crisis: I would like to say something about Gov. Rauner. People are barking up the wrong tree. They should be hollering at Illinois Speaker of the House Madigan. Rauner wants to meet with Madigan and his Democratic team to talk about ending the budget crisis. Madigan won’t meet with Rauner. They need to meet and get this budget cleared up.

Trump talk: I see that the front-runner for the Republican nominee position, Donald Trump, has put his foot in his mouth once again. Now he wants women to be punished if they have an abortion. Let me enlighten you. Just like Trump said to keep all the Mexicans and Muslims out of our country, his constituents feel the same way Trump does about women but they are too afraid to say it.

Stick to the facts: It seems to me with this presidential election that the news media love to start fights with the contenders. They bring up the most stupid stuff and won’t leave it alone. Talk about the facts and what needs to be done. Don’t talk about someone’s wife.

Perturbed about politically correct terms: Congress has really done it now. Why can’t we refer to illegal aliens as illegal aliens? That’s what they are. Why are we worried about hurting their feelings? These people are illegal.

False flags: I am calling about false flag operations. Let’s go back to Civil War times when there was a war between the North and the South. I wonder if anyone understands that President Abraham Lincoln didn’t care two hoots about the slaves. What he cared about was preserving the Union, meaning the United States as defined by the North. So that was a false flag operation. Lincoln’s advisers told him that if he really wanted to preserve the Union, he needed a cause to get people up in arms and angry enough to do something. So they picked out the worst slaveholders and paraded them in front of the people. Now look at Chicago. Why is it that the rest of Illinois has to pay for Chicago’s financial woes? Isn’t it just gross mismanagement? Isn’t it just gross disregard for the law that the Chicago school district can be so far in debt and not follow the law? Don’t forget Chicago protects illegal immigrants. People like Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Jan Schakowsky were sworn to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land, but they’re not doing it. Talk about a false flag operation. Let’s get this country back to where it belongs.

Nettled about Nabisco: You see how dirty the Nabisco Co. is by moving their Chicago plant to Mexico? They received upward of $90 million in tax incentives from Chicago and the state of Illinois in 1993 so they would stay here and not move. Their workers in Mexico receive about $60 a week with hardly any benefits. This is what Donald Trump is talking about. I hope that if he gets elected, he will make Nabisco pay us back the money they took from us. What a shame.

Show respect for the flag: I have one question to ask. Are the people in Wisconsin stupid or stuck-up stupid? You have some African-American people putting the American flag on the ground and stomping on it while Democrats and all these liberals think it’s beautiful. If this country isn’t good enough for you, get out. Stay off of our flag. She’s gorgeous. Wake up, people. Is that what you want for this country? People walking on our flag? Someone needs to be educated and educated fast. God bless America.

Stand up for the children: After viewing the recent media exposure of the brawl in Elgin last week where you saw grown women punching and hitting basically children, I really felt sorry for these kids. Yesterday, there was a story about finding the man who killed the 7-year-old boy in retaliation because his father was in a gang. Another young boy was shot because, oh, it was a random thing. A young girl sitting at home with her grandmother was shot. What is the message here? You’re a kid. Your life doesn’t matter. Sorry, sweetheart, maybe when you hit 17 and you’re a man or a woman, your life will matter. Oops, sorry, you’re not going to make it. Really? You will prosecute to the highest court when an adult has anything done to them. These are children who never had a chance. What kind of environment was that 13-year-old girl brought up in where it is socially acceptable to have a street brawl with grown women involved? Everybody who was at the brawl, including the person videotaping it, should be charged. This is the next generation that is getting shot, killed, kidnapped and tortured. Nobody says anything. You just let it keep going on. Who are the sick ones?

Minimum wage worries: With New York and California signing into law a minimum wage of $15 an hour, I wonder how long it will take before the unemployment rate skyrockets over there. What will probably happen is people will be laid off and the remaining workers will be doing double the work to make up for the fired workers. Way to go.

Unhappy with either choice: I don’t know who is worse, Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. Trump will have every country in the world hating us, or if he has businesses in certain countries, it will be to his own best agenda to manipulate these countries to make money. And if you think he’s going to make money in other countries for you, think again. Cruz is an evangelical nut case. Nothing against Evangelicals, but Cruz’s agenda is to instill his religion upon everyone else. I’ve said before that religion has no place in politics. Do you see President Obama preaching religion? He understands the importance of not pushing his religion on you or me. Everyone has their own religious beliefs. Pushing religion will only cause more conflicts.

Miffed about Mississippi law: I just read about the Mississippi governor signing into law that businesses can deny services to same-sex couples. This is ludicrous. As long as you are a good person and treat everyone else fairly, I don’t care if you are gay, bisexual or straight. You are still my brother, my sister and my neighbor. I’m not going to deny a person something because of his or her sexual preference. I will leave that in God’s hands. It’s not for me to judge. Things like this are dividing our country and could bring our country down.

Increase notices of deceased: This is a message for Speak Out. As you know, The Kane County Chronicle is going down to one day a week. How am I going to know when my friends have died and where they will be buried? If The Beacon-News was smart, they would include obituaries from Batavia, St. Charles and Geneva. Then maybe I and others would become new subscribers. This could be a very profitable suggestion.

Money will come back: This is for the Speak Out caller who had questions about mutual funds. I have a mutual fund account. When the bottom fell out, I lost $60,000. I have since gotten all of it back and a little more. When this was going on, I went to my broker, had a long talk and decided to move stuff around to jump-start it. We moved funds to developing countries. Some of it worked out quite well. You need to talk to your broker and see what’s best for you. You might have to switch the people you’re dealing with. If you are young enough and still putting money in there, sit it out. It will come back.

Heartsick about Haeger: One of the reasons I’m voting for Donald Trump is that he keeps bringing up the fact we’re losing business to foreign companies. I just read that Haeger Potteries is closing after 145 years of business. The owner said the company can no longer survive because of foreign stuff coming into this country. All the independent furniture stores and independent gift shops are almost nonexistent in this country. If Trump can bring back some of our businesses, it would be wonderful. That’s sad to see a 145-year-old business fold in East Dundee. My son used to work there. It was a wonderful place to work and had wonderful people.

Senseless system: I know it’s been done this way forever, but does it really make any sense that the people vote and then the delegates who get appropriated because of that can vote for whomever they want? Really, can anything be stupider? Seems to me it ought to be a cut-and-dried case.
