More patrol cars for Route 41

I travel Route 41 to work all the time, and I obey the speed limit, but nobody else does. People are changing lanes without signaling, following too close and speeding. We need some patrol cars out there so that everyone stays safe.

License plate late fees

An annual fee of $105 for license plate registration is plenty, but a $20 late fee is over the top. Voters need to show their feelings when the secretary of state’s term is up and elect someone who represents the public. The use of common sense is so easy, but some of our politicians just plainly overlook it.

Out of touch politicians

I wish some of these politicians would have to live the middle class life and see what livable poverty is. The problem with career politicians is they get too many benefits and free perks.

Noise complaints

Again with the noise in Waukegan and North Chicago. This is only going on because Waukegan Mayor Wayne Motley, North Chicago Mayor Leon Rockingham and the chiefs of police are allowing it to happen. They could put an end to it, but I guess they figure if enough people don’t call to complain then they don’t need to do anything. If they don’t start hearing from you in abundance — and make them realize we can get enough people to vote them out — then nothing will get done. You have to get on the phone and attend city council meetings to ask why they allow these things to happen. If we hold them accountable they will find a way to make it stop.

Kudos to Rutter

I thoroughly enjoy David Rutter’s articles. He is not afraid to say things as they are. The article on our Waukegan mayor was great. The mayor needs to get on the ball and be for all the people of this city; not just the ones he chooses. Start enforcing some of the laws such as loud music, parking where you should not be, people with four or five cars that can’t park at their own houses and have four families in one house. Where are the privileges for us law-abiding citizens?
