Violinist Almita Vamos and her violinist and violist husband Roland, who are among the leading string instructors in the world, last month paid $880,000 for a two-bedroom, 1,563-square-foot unit on the 46th floor of a recently built Loop high-rise.
Almita Vamos and her husband have taught for nearly 40 years at the Winnetka-based Music Institute of Chicago.
The unit was a model in the building. Features include two full baths, 10-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass, espresso wood floors, custom Lightology lighting, limestone tile in the master bath, custom designer window shades and seven custom-fitted closets.
The purchase price was above the $869,000 asking price, but the purchase price included one parking space.
