SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE: Capt. Chris Lemieux of Boynton Beach said mutton snappers were biting good in 70-150 feet coming off the full moon. There is also a good blackfin tuna bite in 180-220 feet. Dolphin have been farther offshore and scattered.
THE KEYS: Dolphin have been scattered, with anglers who find the right piece of floating debris loading up on small schoolies and catching a handful of bigger fish. Tunas were biting at the humps. Capt. Bill Hauck of the Sea King party boat of Marathon reported flag yellowtail snappers and some small mutton snappers were biting late at night. Bait has been plentiful.
SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE: Keys anglers were catching tarpon on live bait around the bridges and in the channels. Snook fishing has been good in Everglades National Park.
EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER: Capt. Alan Zaremba of Hollywood reported that with rising water levels in the Everglades, the best fishing for largemouth and peacock bass is in isolated canals with no access to the marshes.
LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Bass were biting swimbaits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures first thing early in the morning around the outside grass beds.
