Growing Up Wild: Naper Settlement presents its Third Thursday Thinkers program at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, for 2- to 5-year-olds and at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, for 5- to 7-year-olds at the Rita (Fredenhagen) and John Harvard Early Learning Playscape at the settlement, 523 S. Webster St.

The program, “Growing Up Wild,” will show off the settlement’s sensory garden. Children can see the growth of plants with a take home lima bean experiment.

The program is free with a paid admission to the settlement.

PaJammin’ at the Museum: The DuPage Children’s Museum is hosting a “PaJammin’ Party” from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at 301 N. Washington St.

Children can dress in their pajamas as they explore the museum with their families in one of the museum’s summer family events. The event is free with museum membership or a paid admission.

Naperville Municipal Band Concert: The Naperville Municipal Band will hold its “First Responders” concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Central Park, 104 E. Benton Ave.

Cathy Darin Crusaders, Knights of Columbus-St. Raphael will be having a bake sale. Concert-goers should bring a lawn chair or blanket. The concert will be broadcast on NCTV17.

Lauren Weisberger Movie and Book Event: Lauren Weisberger, author of “The Devil Wears Prada,” will be promoting her newest book, “The Singles Game,” with a movie and book event at 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Hollywood Palms Cinema, 352 S. Route 59.

“The Devil Wears Prada” will be showing while Weisberger signs copies of her book.

Herpetology 101: Children ages 9 to 12 years old can learn about herpetology at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Knoch Knolls Nature Center, 320 Knoch Knolls Road.

They will learn about snakes, turtles, toads and salamanders and which species are most likely to be found in northeastern Illinois.

Mini Makers Day: Guests can learn the history of tradesmen while watching live demonstrations and participating in hands-on workshops at Naper Settlement’s Mini Makers Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at 523 S. Webster St.

Murray Building Tour: Naper Settlement will offer a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Murray Building from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at 523 S. Webster St.

The tour will be led by museum’s Curator of Research Bryan Ogg and guest tour guide Attorney Keith Letsche, a historian, antiques collector and former president of the DuPage County Historical Society.

Concerts in Your Park: The classic rock band, 1976, is the featured act at the Naperville Park District’s Concerts in Your Park summer concert series at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Meadow Glens Park, 1303 Muirhead Ave.

Putts for Pets Golf Outing: The Naperville Area Humane Society presents the 22nd annual Putts for Pets Golf Outing on Tuesday, July 26, at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive, Bolingbrook.

Individual golfer registration is $195, and a foursome registration is $780. Prices include golf with a cart, breakfast, cocktails, lunch, awards and auctions that will benefit the humane society.

Celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday: Teenage fans of the Harry Potter books series can help celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with a special event from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive.

The program is open for kids in sixth through 12 grades. Students can make a wand, answer Harry Potter trivia, watch “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” drink butterbeer and make other crafts.
