In regards to a recent Sunday edition of Speak Out and Sara’s comments, what planet are you on? President Barack Obama’s the worst president in history? Maybe he’s the greatest president. We didn’t have a health care system before Obamacare, and former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney, not Obama, got us into the Iraq War. He’s certainly trying to do his best. If you haven’t noticed, the world is in complete chaos right now and it all started because we drove former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein out of power so all these fascists like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and every other nut group came from that. Get your facts straight, Sara.

Pete, Oak Lawn Now that there have been two terror attacks one week apart, the humanists should now realize that mankind is not basically good, and is not getting morally better over time.

I read in your paper about the Tinley Park man who was scammed into paying $48,500. to people posing as the IRS. The scammers told him he owed the money. He was instructed to go to several retailers and purchase 97 iTune gift cards at $500 each, and send them to the scammers. Shouldn’t this be a red flag for the retailers selling the gift cards? I’ve never bought an iTune gift card, but that does seem like a huge amount, and not a normal purchase. I’ve heard of people getting scammed before into buying these large gift cards, so shouldn’t the retailers take some responsibility?

As it turns out the speech writer for Melania Trump is to blame for the plagiarism that occurred at the RNC. Donald Trump said everyone makes errors and he refused to accept her resignation. Lucky that wasn’t Hillary’s decision or the number of unemployed would have jumped by one that quick.

I read Phil’s column the other day where he laments about those in the Republican Party being idiots who will make women return to a wood burning stove to cook with no life of their own. I’ve had my fill of lefty Phil. Just because Republicans are conservative doesn’t mean their stupid like name-calling lefties. We should restrict illegals from coming into our country. They take jobs away from people and work for almost nothing. They use our hospitals to get medical attention driving up the cost of health care. Remember Phil, conservatives work and keep the economy going, so you lefties can give it away to those who don’t want to work.

Trump will easily become our next president. We elected an African-American twice, and yet Mr. Obama will leave race relations in the worst shape since the Civil War era. He did nothing to cash in on his historic election by improving the race issue. Obama is “The Divider.”

Concerning violence in the streets, the police are caught in the middle. The economic and welfare policies of government manufacture poor, ignorant and violent people. Then, we ask the police officers to clean up the mess resulting from failed government policies. We must eradicate the failed policies of the welfare state to end the trail of violence afflicting our urban areas. Much of the blame for the carnage must be laid at the feet of the liberals who have good intentions, but whose policies have dire consequences.

I see where Ted Cruz and John Kasich are already campaigning for president for the 2020 elections. I don’t get it. If nobody voted for you in 2016, what makes you think in 2020 voters will think you’re perfect for the job. No sense of reality.

Evergreen Park received a grant from the state to build a farm on 91st Street just west of Western, and the barn and corrals have been built. It’s currently a ghost farm, with no animals or activity. What a waste of taxpayer funds. Maybe Evergreen Park officials can be convinced to breed racehorses like they do at the Ag School in Mount Greenwood.

I have a conservative leaning, but occasionally I seek to consider alternative points of view. Where do I look? Talk radio. Anyhow, I sometimes listen in my car to a liberal afternoon AM radio show. What I often hear is something like this beauty: “President Obama will go down as the greatest president this country has seen.” Why I bother to seek alternative points of view like this is beyond me. Doh.

I am writing in response to Tuesday’s article by Phil Arvia. Kudos to him for explaining about this presidential election. I believe this is one of those elections where we cast our vote against rather than for. We must weigh each candidate’s platforms and decide which will be less dangerous to our United States. Phil did a marvelous job pointing out very important things to consider before casting your vote. Thanks Phil and thanks to the Daily Southtown for printing it.

Why is the U.S.A. the only country expected to eliminate ISIS ? Other countries (especially the one’s being affected right now) throughout the world have military forces as well. Seems pretty one-sided to me.

I’m watching all these youngsters walking around with their phones playing “Pokemon Go.” I wonder what the rate of accidents are of people falling into holes. They’re walking into things and hurting themselves, and probably hurting their eyes too. What’s the purpose? I hear you walk around, so take out the garbage, but that’s too much work. I don’t understand. You’re walking around. When you arrive, you don’t even see anything. What is the accident rate of that? How does insurance cover it and how do they charge it? If you say it was a “Pokemon Go” accident, do they sue the company that makes “Pokemon Go?” It’s stupid, like walking around blind. Oh well, what are you going to do?

Doesn’t President Barack Obama know there’s 50 states in America? Every time you turn around he’s in some foreign country. Why? You’ve got thousands and thousands and thousands of things that need to be done, replaced and repaired in America. That’s called America, the United States. It’ll be a blessing to see him leave office. He should be a foreign president.

How about letting David Brown, the chief of police in Dallas, do a tour of the country to get all these race relations and police problems taken care of, unlike activists like the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton who are making money off it? After the sniper fatally shooting five policemen in Dallas, let the government pay Brown to take a tour and straighten out things in every city, and show everyone how the police work and help the country.

The Republicans are missing the boat. I hear that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton brushes her teeth every day. She’s probably getting a kickback from the toothpaste companies. They should investigate that too.

At 5:30 one morning, I got a phone call. I rushed to the phone. The recording got louder and louder. It was like listening to something on television or the radio that would make me switch stations. Why does the phone company allow this? These people get you excited to answer the phone in a hurry. One time I broke three ribs and laid on the floor for three days because I ran to answer the phone. Cut the garbage out with telemarketing calls. You’re causing mishaps. One guy increased the volume on the call. Do they charge extra for that? It was louder than I had the phone set. I thought I was in a war zone. Get realistic.

All the Republicans like Gov. Bruce Rauner and U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk that are not standing behind presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump should not be reelected. They are nothing but Democrats, and that’s a shame. The people that are voting for presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton stand behind her no matter what. The Democrats stand together as one party, but in the Republican Party they’re only worried about themselves. If they don’t get together and go behind Trump, Hillary will win the election and we’ll have Hillary for our next president. It’s a shame that the Republican Party is such a bunch of wimps.

All lives matter, not just black lives. I believe with all my heart that if you take the police out of the picture for maybe a day or a week, and let all the people that don’t want the police not to have them, maybe just then they’ll understand what “All lives matter” means.

I have something for all lawmakers in regard to crime. When a person is sentenced to 15 years, let it be just that – 15 years. If his case is proven, then he has to serve his time, and no more time off for good behavior. You will see the drop in crime.
