Seeing sometimes how family can treat each other makes one understand how things in this world go bad.

I haven’t heard Trump say anything constructive all he does is call people nasty names. Anybody that would consider using nuclear weapons of mass destruction is insane. Anybody that wants to persecute a religion like Hitler did is insane. Anybody that wants to build a wall like Russia did in Germany and isolate us is insane.

We need something like the Friends of the Parks in Chicago to stop Pavilion Partners here, if they can defeat billionaire George Lucas they could defeat a well-to-do Valpo resident.

Jeff Manes’ profiles on interesting people are always worth reading. His recent one on Evelyn Echterling Hitzeman takes the cake! Best ever! Go, Jeff!!

You do remember that Bill Clinton is the one that deregulated Wall Street?

The steel mills just got more tariffs passed against foreign steel. The work-8, sleep-8 lives on into a new generation. Cars will cost more, washing machines will cost more but the sleep benefits live on forever.

This country, and the Republican Party in particular, should be ashamed of itself for creating the monster that is Donald Trump. If any of you think that he cares about us, little guys, you are truly living in la-la land.

Joubert — “It is not hard to know God,” said he, “provided one will not force oneself to define him.” Many people who stoutly claim to believe in God live in perpetual vacillation as to what they mean by him. Just how many of us do this? When I read this my reaction was “yes, that is me much of the time, but to let you know, I am doing something about it. I do so hope you will recieve something from this. May your hearts be stirred.

To the person who’s complaining about Quickly writers in Monday’s paper, if there’s a will there’s a way, then maybe some people’s way is through Quickly.

Just a quick heads up. Please check the expiration dates on foods at the grocery store. Some time ago, I came home with three jars that were over six months expired because I never gave it any thought to check the date beforehand.

Politicians say the things that we want to hear. It’s time they do the things that they say.

A godless society is doomed for failure, and reading Quickly on a daily basis blaming the Bible, which just happens to be the best selling book in history, scares me. Maybe the devil wrote the Constitution. Were you there?

Just wondering who thinks seniors should walk in the Fourth of July parades. Half of us can hardly walk and you want to use the baton system. Why not ask us to run without our canes or what have you?

The No. 2 for the GOP presidential ticket now wants the citizens to vote for the guy that he wants, to replace him in the office he abandoned to further his political career. Point of interest, voters you will not have a voice in the choice of his replacement.

Wish someone would explain to me what our governor has done that is so wonderful for Indiana. Have you been out of your home and looked at our roads? They are going you know where in a hand basket.

I’m not a Democrat, but I believe Michelle Obama has been a classy mother and first lady. Far more cheer her than malign her. Little known fact: Her grandmother, LaVaughn Robinson, was a 20-year employee of Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute, as was I. In the 70s, when Michelle was only a teenager, she was the well respected manager of our publishing division’s south side bookstore.

Cops do not have the right to act in the capacity as judge, jury, prosecutor and executioner. They do not have the right to make legal determinations for you or step on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendments to the Constitution.

So Valpo has the money to dig a huge canal, but they have to charge a wheel tax to pave the roads?

Donald Trump claims that he is the “law and order” choice. Except when he is expected to follow the law, like paying his taxes or paying the people that he contracts to do jobs. Why has this man been a party to 3,500 lawsuits? That doesn’t sound like a law-abiding citizen.

Once again our state is bragging about our $2.24 billion surplus while taxpayers are furious about about another tax increase for the wheel tax. Yea GOP. Right out of office in this next election.
